About

History

Kemper Industrial Equipment and Midwest Pottyhouse is a second-generation family business that began in 1963. Keith and Virginia Kemper first started providing barricades, cones, highway weed spraying and other services to municipalities all over Central Illinois. With the addition of renting portable toilets, the business quickly evolved over the years, at various points even dealing in renting and selling John Deere and Bobcat equipment.

Rent-a-potty became a major focus around 1970. Not long after that came aerial reach equipment, beginning with scissor lifts. In 2006, our current CEO, Scott Kemper, added a second Pottyhouse rental location in Carbondale.
